Désenchantement : les voyages “solidaire” et “humanitaire” de Catherine

International audienceThe objective of this paper is double. On one hand, it comes to describe the context of emergence and structuring in France of an offer of “fair” and “humanitarian” trips, as well as the representations which surround these forms of mobility involving the hedonism of tourism and the altruism of assistance to development in the countries of the “South”. On the other hand, particular attention is paid to their concrete experiment by a Frenchwoman. The diachronic study of the course of a tourist having realized a fair journey in Burkina Faso followed by an humanitarian stay in Mali three years later reveals the on-the-spot real-life situations, the short-term reflection and the retrospective analysis on these two forms of tourism realized by a participant. It brings to light the nature of the ethics which engendered its decision to travel and the way this one evolved during the events and the situations of interlocution with the social actors.L’objectif de cet article est double. D’une part, il s’agit de décrire à la fois le contexte d’émergence et de structuration d’une offre de voyages “solidaires” et “humanitaires” en France ainsi que les représentations qui entourent ces formes de mobilité mêlant l’hédonisme du tourisme et l’altruisme de l’aide au développement des pays du “Sud”. D’autre part, une attention particulière est portée à leur expérimentation concrète par une Française. L’étude diachronique du parcours d’une touriste ayant réalisé un séjour solidaire au Burkina Faso suivi d’un séjour humanitaire au Mali trois ans plus tard révèle les situations vécues sur place, la réflexion à court terme et l’analyse rétrospective sur ces deux formes de tourisme réalisées par une participante.
